This rock picker’s map for Gooseberry State Park is from the original volume done by my field guide publishing company, Kollath+Stensaas Publishing: Rock Picker’s Guide to Lake Superior’s North Shore (yeah, kind of a long title). We’ve sold over 80,000 of these so maybe it looks familiar.

T-shirt art for finishers of the “Last Runner Standing” trail race at Spirit Mountain here in Duluth, Minnesota. This was a collaboration between my associate, Aurora Webster and me. I art directed it and worked on it, but nearly all of the illustration is hers. Nice work Aurora.

Where is the Duluth Coffee café? Just a simple map but often that’s all you need.

One of a series of maps for the City of Duluth showing proposed plans for a kayaking, canoeing and nordic ice skating center. “Nordic ice skating”? Skating on natural, non-rink courses such as (in this case) the St. Louis River bay. Think of Holland and its canals in winter.

I recently did a huge series of maps for the City of Duluth highlighting and explaining the current push for increased recreational trail development within the city limits. Duluth mountain bike trails, for example, are gaining quite the national buzz: this trail system has won the International Mountain Bike Association’s Gold rating; one of only five in the world.

There was an older version of this Clure Public Marine Terminal map and they were looking for an update. I redid it from scratch using an aerial photo.

These folks came to me via the Hallett Dock Co. map I’d done. They wanted something similar for their own docks and properties.
